Type Collage

Letter and type forms are basic design elements in layout; we come in contact with them everyday. It seems sufficent merely to suggest that letter and type forms may be the inspiration for existing compositions and layouts
in which these forms are used alone or in a composition with other materials. In this assignment you will only need magazines, a gluestick, a pair of scissors or an xacto knife, your imagination and the following instructions.

• Choose one noun and one adjective from their respective boxes. This is the title of your poster.

• Brainstorm on ideas of how to express the title you chose. Using those words, create a poster with no other elements but type. Make of it what you will.

• Using magazines, cut out only words, letters, lines of text in any color and or size to crete your poster. Position and paste them to create a visual cnnection between hte noun and the adjective. No pictures!

• Glue the words down onto the paper provided. Use all of the area. Remember white space is also important. When you are finished, write your name and the title of your poster (noun and adjective) on the back.
