James Cross's simple, elegant and direct graphic design has made an outstanding contribution to the U.S.’s corporate world. Cross developed rich and long-lasting relationships with such corporations as the independent research organization RAND Corporation, Northrop, and Simpson Paper.
Jim formed his own design firm in 1963, and by the 1980’s had offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Newport Beach, CA. The firm's clients included Fluor. Corp., Lockheed Corp., Western Digital Corp., the Newport Harbor Art Museum, and Ramada Inns.
Cross was International President of Alliance Graphique Internationale, an AIGA board member, and a Medalist. He also has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Art Directors Club of Los Angeles.
